A Message from the CU Shipping & Receiving Department

Please be careful to include your name in the mailing information of your Amazon purchases. Our Shipping & Receiving department often receives packages addressed to the University but with no recipient name. With some vendors, we can call for customer information, however, we cannot get this info from Amazon. Our only recourse is to return the package after a few days holding period. *We are currently in possession of two such packages. Let us know if you are expecting an Amazon delivery.* So, please, in the future, if you are ordering on amazon.com, include your name in the shipping information so that we can deliver your package to you. Wilke Featured on German Public Radio

Associate Professor of Psychology Andreas Wilke, a cognitive psychologist, was featured in an interview <http://www.swr.de/swr2/programm/sendungen/matinee/gespraech-mit-dr-das-gese…>, yesterday, on Germany's SWR <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%BCdwestrundfunk> (Southwest Broadcasting), a regional public broadcasting corporation serving southwest Germany. During the 12-minute interview on the SWR2 Matinee <http://www.swr.de/swr2/programm/sendungen/matinee/swr2-matinee-19-februar-2…> program, Wilke discussed his research on the "law of the series," also known as a "hot-hand phenomenon." The hot hand phenomenon refers to the expectation of "streaks" in sequences of hits and misses whose probabilities are, in fact, independent -- such as coin tosses or basketball shots. Wilke, a native of Germany, pre-recorded the interview in German from the studios of North Country Public Radio. Dear dog lovers, Many of Clarkson's students and staff have contributed their time, energy, and money into building the Potsdam Community Dog Park ( http://www.potsdamdogpark.org/), which will be opening its doors to public this year. In preparation for the opening, experienced dog trainer, Linda Caamano, will present four evenings, each with examples and advice for Dog Park etiquette, behavior, body language, understanding, and being a good advocate for your dog. Cost: FREE and open to the public! Massena Airport Service - Considering Destinations to Albany, Boston, Buffalo and Baltimore

Colleagues, We know many people travel in /out of Potsdam on different modes of transportation and when travelling by air, consider several different options. The Town of Massena is currently reviewing two proposals by airlines to provide air service from Massena International Airport to regional air service hubs. The current supplier has three daily roundtrips to Albany with connecting service to Boston on nine-passenger Cessna aircraft. The same carrier also offers flights to Albany with connections to Boston via the Ogdensburg Airport. The Town of Massena is also considering a provider (may be an alternative provider) with nine-passenger planes that has offered to fly two direct routes, with the Town needing to choose two choices from among the list of Albany, Boston, Buffalo or Baltimore. The Town Council will be holding a public meeting on Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 30 on the second floor of the Massena Town Hall, 60 Main St.. If you would like to submit comments to me about the likelihood you would use the Massena Airport with these destinations, including naming the two direct destinations you would most likely choose to use, I will be collecting wider feedback from Clarkson and sending a summary to the Town Supervisor.
