Anyone trying the recipe, please be sure to read through all of the responses contained in this discussion as any mixture needs to be at least 60% alcohol (taking into account that the rubbing alcohol you can find in drugstores, etc., typically is only 70%). The link provided by Jan DeWaters from the World Health Organization is very detailed. https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/Guide_to_Local_Production.pdf
All the best.

I was sent this recipe for making your own hand sanitizer from World Precision Instruments in an email. Passing it on just in case it is useful to anyone:
*From World Precision Instruments*
*Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer Gel*
*Ingredients* ½ cup pure aloe vera gel ½ cup rubbing alcohol 1 tablespoon of oil for a moisturizer (jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, coconut oil, olive oil, eucalyptus oil... ) 15 drops of essential oils, optional for scent and increased antibacterial properties (lavender, rose, tea tree, peppermint)
*Directions* Combine all of the ingredients in a sealed bottle and shake well. Add more alcohol as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
